Arizona Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates (AARA) was founded in 1994 with the purpose of providing quality rheumatologic (arthritis and immunologic disease) care for the State of Arizona. Our vision was to have a single specialty group with all the tools to perform quality and complete care for the patient’s rheumatologic needs.
AARA has grown to be one of the largest and most successful rheumatology groups in the United States. 16 physicians and 23 Advanced Practice Clinicians (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) see patients at nine geographically convenient locations throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area, Flagstaff, Prescott, and Tucson. All the physicians have been subspecialty trained and board certified in Rheumatology and come from some of the finest training programs across the country.
AARA’s vision to provide complete rheumatologic care has led us to add ancillary services that include:
- Diagnostic X-ray
- CLIA certified lab that performs most of the tests to diagnose and monitor rheumatologic disease
- Bone densitometers to diagnose and monitor osteoporosis
- High field extremity MRI for the most precise monitoring of rheumatic diseases
- Electrodiagnostic studies to diagnosis muscle and nerve disorders
- An active research department with access to cutting edge therapeutics
- Podiatry to treat foot and ankle conditions
AARA strives to remain current with related scientific knowledge and connected with the latest procedures of the rheumatology medical community. We have established close connections to the medical schools and the medical residency programs in the state. Our physicians frequently lecture for patient groups and medical groups throughout the state. AARA is affiliated with five of the finest hospitals in the valley for consultative inpatient rheumatologic care.
AARA maintains a culture of compassionate care, an idea we work to instill in all our staff members. We consider all the ways the disease affects ones life and how other aspects of ones life affects the status of the disease.
We take pride in our operations at AARA and look forward to serving you. We hope you will make AARA your home for rheumatologic care.
